A wall of books
23 April is World Book and Copyright Day.
A'literary' wall has been created on Pinterest by Mª Jesús García San Martín, an English teacher, to celebrate this day.
You are invited to take part in this activity.Visit the site and write your own comments and likes. The activity consists of including your favourite book and write why you like it. You could pin any book or title, a favourite from childhood, a current book or something you’ve read and enjoyed.Click here to go to the site
It is a wonderful idea and I want to congratulate Mª Jesús for such a splendid activity to encourage reading.

A new eTwinning project: Enlivening our libraries
We have started a new project on eTwinning, its name "Enlivening our libraries". It is the continuation of our Comenius project that we have carried out over two years, "Reading for travelling through the paths of life", which was intended to encourage reading and make our library a place of meeting with activities which motivate our students to read. Our Department has special interest in participating in this project because it involves using English as a vehicle for communication among the different countries and because we are convinced of the importance of reading to develop not only the language but the knowledge of the different cultures involved. We hope that you, our students, will be interested in this project and participate in the activities that we will be proposing.

Human Rights & Spanish Constitution
The English and French Department of IES Mediterráneo have celebrated the Human Rights Day by designing posters with the articles of the Declaration of the Human Rights making a relation with these articles and the Spanish Constitution. The 2º Bachillerato students created several comics developing these articles to diffuse them among the other students at school. They also made a gymkhana with this topic that will be carried out on 21st December at our school.

10 Heart Idioms

10 Heart Idioms explained to English as a Second Language.
English idioms or idiomatic expressions come in plenty in the English language.
It is said that there are about 25,000 idioms in English. Many of these idioms, unfortunately, sound and look strange to most students of English as a Second Language.

Create your own voki
You only have to click on my voki and you will be sent to the page where you can create your own voki. Just follow the instructions, and it'll be done. Once you have created your viki you have to write the text you want him/her to say (your name and something else); you can also record your own voice with your description, to do so you only hve to click on the microphone and start recording. Then embed the code on your blog so that everybody can see it. Remember what I explained last Tuesday.
